SHAP (SHapley Additive exPlanations) is a game-theoretic approach to explaining predictions. For every prediction WHISPER makes, XAILENCE calculates the contribution of each input feature.

Factor Impact Visualization

We don’t just show numbers. XAILENCE visualizes how each factor pushes the prediction higher or lower:

Confidence Scoring

Not all predictions are equally reliable. XAILENCE provides confidence scores based on:

  • Signal strength: How clear are the patterns?
  • Model agreement: Do our ensemble models converge?
  • Historical accuracy: How well have similar predictions performed?

Example:

  • High Confidence (90%+): “This prediction is based on complete data and strong signal agreement”
  • Medium Confidence (70-90%): “Some data gaps, but core signals are clear”
  • Low Confidence (<70%): “Limited data or conflicting signals — use with caution”

Counterfactual Analysis

What would need to change for a different outcome?

XAILENCE answers this by computing counterfactuals:

Current prediction: 52% success probability

To reach 75% success probability:
→ Increase runway by 6 months
→ Add senior technical co-founder
→ Reduce customer acquisition cost by 30%

To drop below 30% success probability:
→ Lose lead engineer
→ Miss next quarter revenue target
→ Primary competitor raises $50M+
